Complete Photo Solutions announces its first photography contest that is open to the public. This contest is open to amateur photographers in Kings, Fresno and Tulare counties. Kings Symphony Orchestra fundraiser

The Kings Symphony Orchestra is having its annual dinner/silent auction on Saturday, June 21, at 6 p.m. in Hanford at the St. Brigid Church parish hall located on the corner of Florinda and Harris streets.

The dinner will be catered by Cal Clement and entertaiment will be provided by a viola quartet.

Tickets are $36 per person. Ticket reservations may be made by calling the following phone numbers: 924-2012, 924-2300, 582-1828.

Herb Garden tour

SQUAW VALLEY -- The Hanford Senior Center and Kings County Library will host a trip to the Squaw Valley Herb Gardens from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21.

The park is located in the hills near Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks.

Enjoy an easy guided walk, then seated with a spectacular view, listen and watch demonstrations on herbal recipes and remedies, history and folklore, art and agriculture, and culinary refreshments. On the return trip, the bus will stop for lunch at the well-known, popular China Garden restaurant in Selma.

Cost is $50 per person. Price includes transportation, tour fee for herb garden, and lunch at China Garden in Selma. Minimum of 25 people are needed for this trip.

Stone River Band at Summer Blast

FRESNO -- Stone River Band will perform at Summer Blast 2008, presented by the U.S. Army. Summer Blast will be held on Wednesday, June 18, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Valdez Hall, located next to Selland Arena, in downtown Fresno.

Summer Blast features a food drive and jersey auction to benefit Poverello House. Admission to the event is free with the donation of nonperishable food. There will be live music, kids' games, Hockey 101 featuring Falcons head coach Matt Thomas, a silent auction, a live auction of the Falcons' white jerseys from the 2007-08 season, free parking and food.

Lipizzaner Stallions

FRESNO -- The Lipizzaner Stallions are in two shows at the Save Mart Center at Fresno State on June 21 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. There are a limited number of Gold Circle seats available for $26.50 each (no discounts apply). Regular admission adult tickets are $22.50 and $19.50 each. Discounts are available for children 12 and under and seniors 60 and over and groups of 15 or more (no double discounts). Please note that there is a $1.75 facility fee.

Youth Disc Jockey Camp

A DJ camp for youth 8 to 17 years old is scheduled for June 16 to July 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, Monday through Thursday, in Tulare. The camp, sponsored by ZZYXZ Mobile DJ Service, is a hands-on experience where attendees explore the various aspects of being a disc jockey.

All attendees completing the six-week course will receive a certificate of completion. Classes are $50 per week or $250 for the complete six-week course. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. Call 684-1102 to pre-register or email your name and contact information to djcamp@zzydj.com.

High Sierra Jazz Band

THREE RIVERS -- The next live concert and annual barbecue of the High Sierra Jazz Band will be on Saturday. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner (with reservation) served at 5:30 p.m. Barbecue chicken or steak dinner is $12.50. Music will start at 7 p.m. 2008 members are free; guests $10. Concerts are held at the Memorial Building at the corner of Sierra Drive (Highway 198) and Skyline Drive. Write to P.O.
